Established and Proven Local Presence
Trane® CenTraVac® chillers using HFO refrigerant R514A
have established a strong and proven presence in Hong Kong’s built
environment, delivering consistent performance across a wide range of
applications in both government-funded and private commercial projects.
By the end of 2025, Trane had deployed more than 140 CenTraVac® chillers with R514A across over 50
projects in the city, supplying a combined cooling capacity exceeding
100,000 refrigeration tons.
These installations span
large commercial developments, institutional facilities, and complex
building portfolios where reliability, energy efficiency, and long‑term
sustainable operating value are critical. The scale and diversity of
deployments reflect the market’s confidence in Trane’s low‑pressure
centrifugal chiller technology and its suitability for Hong Kong’s
demanding operating conditions.
Supporting Government’s Development Priorities
The Chief Executive’s 2024
Policy Address highlights the need to “continuously
enhance speed, quantity, quality and efficiency” to accelerate public-housing supply. The Northern
Metropolis, as a strategic growth engine, is among the Government’s key
development priorities, and requires swifter delivery and higher
efficiency to implement large‑scale infrastructure and housing
projects.
In this backdrop, Trane® CenTraVac® Centrifugal Chillers with Refrigerant
HFO R514A, as a BTRi-approved product under CPAS, have been recognized
as a trusted and proven chiller solution well positioned to support the
Government’s development priorities pertaining to the Northern
Metropolis.
